The shape and size of the labia minora is quite variable, it usually depends on genetic and hormonal factors. Large labia minora can be somewhat irritating, not just in aesthetic terms. Anything from riding a bicycle to having sexual relations can prove to be uncomfortable. There are various techniques to perform the reduction of the labia minora. What type of anaesthesia is used in this intervention?

It is performed with local anaesthesia and sedation, due to which, the patient will return home on the same day as the intervention.

How is the intervention performed?

Usually, it consists of the removal of the excess tissue of the labia minora, specifically for the darker or more pigmented areas. In some cases, a complete remodelling of the clitoral hood is necessary for the excess skin.
